Snow showers hit London
Cars were covered in snow
Cars were covered in snow

Londoners woke today to winter wonderland scenes as snow fell across much of the capital.

Anyone up bright and early would have opened their curtains to snow-lined cars and rooftops as the snow settled.

Up to 8cm (3in) of snow is expected to fall across southern England.

It comes as England experienced a sharp drop in temperatures this weekend.

The drop followed the warmest day of the year so far on Thursday.
