St ColumbaÂ’s Chaplaincy
St ColumbaÂ’s has a vibrant Chaplaincy Area lead by a full time Chaplain and there is a wide range of activities to take part in.
Some of our activities are listed below:
• Voluntary mass every Wednesday week 2 at 8.00am in the school Chapel
• Annual retreats for each year group
• Chaplaincy group at break and lunch time
• Youth Café (after school sacramental preparation support)
• Student lead assemblies
Specialism
St ColumbaÂ’s has successfully received redesignation as a specialist Visual and Performing Arts College after the prescribed three year evaluation process.
Sports
St ColumbaÂ’s has a long and distinguished tradition of sporting excellence with a history of sporting success locally and nationally. Sport makes a substantial and unique contribution to the school.
We believe that it is important for all students to continue with regular physical activity, which places increasing demands on them, improves their flexibility and mobility, building up strength, stamina and selfconfidence, so that the students willingly participate in worthwhile activities at school and leisure pursuits in later life.
The school has facilities that include a sports hall, two football and one rugby pitch, athletics track, tennis courts, training grid areas, cricket nets, outside and inside basketball courts and a large hard playing surface.
