The Society owns 'Austenmead', a substantial detached home with extensive grounds situated between Austenwood and Gold Hill Common, Chalfont St Peter. Austenmead offers sheltered comfortable en suite accommodation for 11 residents, who are expected to be reasonably fit and independent.
The house is within walking distance of the village. it is on the regular bus route between Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross, connecting with the Chiltern Line train service to Marylebone, High Wycombe and Birmingham.
In addition, the committee provides entertainment on a regular basis for the residents, for example, live musical evenings by local entertainers, gentle keep-fit sessions, mini-bus trips to places of interest, theatre trips, and an annual strawberry tea in the summer with entertainment by a local band, etc.
Residents rooms
All rooms are decorated prior to arrival of a new resident. The rooms are let unfurnished so that incoming residents can bring their own furniture."
House Facilities
There is a spacious and comfortable sitting room and a separate dining room. The landscaped and professionally maintained garden is delightful and secluded and enjoyed by residents, especially in the summer.
There is a passenger lift to the first floor
Ample parking space is available.
A washing machine and tumble dryer are provided for residents use on the ground floor.
All communal areas of the house are cleaned regularly, together with en suite facilities.
Two kitchens are provided, one on each floor, for the use of residents use Facilities
