SUPERHUNK International oarsman and Chiswick resident Dan Ouseley shows his steamy side in a calendar launched this week to raise the rowing team's profile for next year's Athens Olympics.
Dan and his GB eight team members posed for the Calendar Crew's Rowing Calendar 2004 straight after a training session, and although they don't quite bare all in the Calendar Girls' type publication, their lycra outfits and bare chests leave little to the imagination.
The calendar is aimed at raising the profile of the rowers who will be representing Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics, and proceeds will support The Rowing Foundation in helping smaller clubs with less resources put young people on the water.
Dan, who has lived in Chiswick since the age of four, currently trains with his team in Hammersmith.
He joined St Paul's Boys School rowing team in 1993 after tiring of playing cricket, and won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup with them in 1997.
Later that summer he participated as part of the Great Britain eight and won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships.
His rowing career has since rocketed with bronze medals at the Senior World Championships in Lucerne in 2001 and the August 2003 World Cup in Milan, and the Olympics challenge ahead next year.
To order the calendar a cheque for 9.95 plus 3.00 p&p made payable to The Calendar Crew can be sent to The Calendar Crew, 23 Purfield Drive, Wargrave, Reading, Berks RG10 8AP, or contact Crewroom at enquiries@crewroom.biz.
