12:55pm Friday 22nd August 2008 in The Chiswick By Michelle Curran
A trailer which had a consignment of laptops stolen from it was dumped in an Ashford layby.
A white lorry cab drove into the depot in Scylla Road, Heathrow, just off the Southern Perimeter Road, on Saturday, August 9, and left towing the 40ft trailer containing the machines at 9.58pm.
The day before the computers had been collected from the airport.
The trailer was found abandoned and empty on the A308 in Ashford on August 12.
The black Advent laptops, model numbers 5312 and 5313, are not yet in the public domain and are exclusive to PC World.
Detective Sergeant Jose Defreitas from Operation Grafton, the serious and organised crime command, said: "We are asking members of the public to be vigilant. If anyone offers them Advent laptops with model numbers 5312 and 5313, which are not yet available in England, they may well be stolen.”
Anyone with information should call 020 8246 9950 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
