Westside men have made it four wins from five matches in the Aegon National League after Sunday’s 8-4 win at St George’s Hill, writes Mike Sinclair.
Club champion Marek Karas and Great Britain Over-35 representative Simon Bramwell both won as honours were shared in the four singles matches.
But Westside took both doubles to with Karas partnering Bramwell to victory while team captain Gary Thomson and David McCall, drafted in for his first match of the season, also won.
The victory takes Westside to third in the South East South Divison - the second tier of the country's top inter-club competition - putting them firmly in contention to push for promotion to the premier division.
With two matches to go, Westside are currently level on points with leaders Park Langley, who they beat on the opening day of the season, and second-placed Paddingotn - the only team to have beaten them. Both are narrowly ahead of Westside on games difference.
