Putney schoolgirl Catherine Blayze showed off her tennis talents to some of England’s top scouts last Wednesday.
The 14-year-old, who trains at Chiswick Riverside, was one of 39 youngsters who took part in the Lawn Tennis Association’s National Talent ID Day, held at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
She was put through rigorous testing in front of the LTA Talent ID team, who were aiming to spot future performance players.
“It was my first one so I was really excited about it despite being a little nervous,” said the Putney High School pupil.
“I thought it was a good experience getting to play with the best players and coaches.”
The day was overseen by LTA head of talent management Andrew Lewandowski.
