Head coach Rob Powell reckons Dan Sarginson’s tryscoring Super League debut means Quins RL have the quality to start winning again.
The Stoop side have won just one game since March and that run continued with a 26-18 defeat at Salfiord City Reds on Friday.
Centre Sarginson’s double and one from Tony Clubb, along with three conversions from Luke Gale, was not enough as Harlequins - missing key men Luke Dorn, Chad Randall and Chris Melling - lost late in the piece.
But the 18-year-old’s performance left Powell convinced a return to form for his side was only around the corner.
“It was great to see Dan score twice on his debut,” he said.
“I thought it was a fantastic effort for a young, busted-up team.
“I felt the game turned on a late penalty decision, but we gave it our all. The run we’re on is frustrating more than anything.
“But we showed there is enough quality in our team to win games and we will do our best to do that over the rest of the season.”
Fixtures: July 9 Wigan Warrors (h), 16 Warrington Wolves (h), 30 Catalan Dragons (a).
