West Croydon Broncos will become the newest junior Rugby League club in London when the clubs first training session takes place on Saturday January 16th. The Broncos have been set up to act as an exit club for primary schools in the Archbishop Lanfranc School sports partnership, who have been receiving regular coaching from the SSP's Community Rugby League coach Maurice Harley Preller and will run at under 9's and 11's in 2010.
The club will be based at The Archbishop Lanfranc School and will also aim to attract players from the Broad Green and West Croydon areas of Croydon. They will complement the existing Croydon Hurricanes minis set up which targets children to the North of the borough plus the neighbouring boroughs of Sutton and Merton.
The Broncos are running six weeks of free taster sessions on Saturdays starting on January 16th.
After the six weeks are up, partcipants will be able to register as players for the modest amout of £35 a year. This will cover kit, insurance, travel and refreshment costs for a full season of participation in the London Mini League.
Boys and Girls aged from 8 to 11 are more than welcome to come along and try out for the club from the 16th.
Training takes place at the Archbishop Lanfranc School Mitcham Road, Croydon CR9 3AS every Saturday from 11am to 12.30pm.
