Former Harlequins RL favourite Luke Dorn has admitted there was little need for arm-twisting to convince him to return to London for the 2009 season.
Dorn will be unveiled at the Stoop this week as Quins begin preparations for the next campaign.
And the Aussie ace revealed the move had been in the pipeline for some time.
Dorn said: “I was approached by Brian McDermott a fair while ago and he told me I was one of the guys he was really interested in bringing in.
“There really was no need for any persuasion - the club has come on leaps and bounds since I was last there.
“The set-up is familiar but the team is really knew - I cannot wait to get started.”
Dorn enjoyed a memorable two years in London from 2005-6, touching down for an impressive 42 tries in 58 appearances for Quins before departing to Salford.
And a switch to Castleford Tigers for the 2008 season has still seen the stand-off riding high in the Super League try-scoring stakes, despite Castleford’s abysmal form.
Dorn added: “This year has obviously been very disappointing at Cas.
“We have tried to remain positive but we have lost far too many of our games.
“But even so, and I know this might sound strange, I have really enjoyed this year.”
The 26-year-old will likely plug the gap left by the retiring Scott Hill and departing Henry Paul.
And the elusive runner is hoping to once again thrill the London fans.
He added: “I would not go to a club if I did not think I could make a difference.
“The attitude has changed at Quins now and they are no longer happy to just be mid-table.
“I’m actually a little bit apprehensive about it to tell the truth.
“I hope that the fans still hold me in high regard.
“I have nothing but fantastic memories from my time in London, and I am looking forward to making many more.”
