Director of rugby Steve Hill slammed Richmond’s profligacy last week and warned his men they would face defeat once more if they delivered a repeat performance when Cinderford visit today.

Hill’s side crashed 29-19 at Wharfedale on Saturday, despite having led 14-5 at the break through tries from Jamie Falconer and Jamie Gibbs.

Tim Walford did score his side’s third in the second half, but it should easily have been more as the hosts scored two tries in the closing stages –much to the displeasure of coach Hill.

“The whole squad put in a huge amount of effort and to come away with no points is extremely disappointing,” he said.

“We improved in the areas we targeted at training this week and I was pleased with the opportunities we created.

“However, if you fail to convert chances in this league you are likely to get punished and this happened in spades.”
