Director of rugby Steve Hill slammed referee Jamie Leahy's influence on the outcome as his Richmond crashed 28-15 at Rosslyn Park on Saturday.

Chris Davies and Will Warden got their marching orders in a second half that saw Hill's men reduced to 14 men for 20 minutes - in which time Park's Hugo Ellis and Mark Ireland crossed to go with a Tom Whelan penalty.

Simon Ackroyd and Tom Shaw tries, plus five points from the boot of Rob Kirby had Richmond in the game for much of the match, but Hill felt Leahy's contribution was decisive.

"I was really pleased with the intent and the physicality we showed," said Hill, who saw an impressive cameo off the bench by former London Scottish flanker Ben Lonergan.

"We scored two excellent tries and were apparently held up over the line seeking a third.

"We put Park under lots of pressure, but also made unfortunate errors at key times.

"Sadly the official had a huge influence on the performance and outcome of the match and that was a great pity for all who had come to play in and watch the game.'
