Coach James Ogilvie-Bull will not talk of promotion for leaders Wimbledon RFC, even though a win this weekend could open an eight-point gap at the top of London Division One South.

Wimbledon host fourth-placed Sutton & Epsom, and a win, plus win for third-placed Sidcup over second-placed Chobham, could put them in the driving seat with three games remaining.

However, Bully says the club is concentrating purely on one game at a time, knowing four more wins will seal promotion, whatever anyone else does.

And there is added spice this weekend with Wimbledon wanting to inflict revenge on Sutton & Epsom for a heavy defeat 39-17 inflicted upon them in November.

Bully said: “The boys want to put right what happened at their place, we did not play at all well and they deserved the win.

“But wanting to get revenge gives us no more impetus for Saturday than it does for the remaining games of the season.

“We know that if we win all four games, we’re champions, and that means every game is as important as any other.

“But in this division anything can happen, so we’re cannot start thinking it is job done.”

Wimbledon will be without number six Steve May (thigh), but otherwise it is a fully fit squad.

Saturday’s match at Beverley Meads kicks off at 3pm.
