Battersea Ironsides are in the final of the London & SE Junior Vase after a 20-7 win at Wisbech at the weekend.

Moreover, the win, thanks to tries from Seb Jones and Joe Whitehouse, as well as Ben Mott's extras, is the club's 18th consecutive victory.

The Ironsides did not have Saturday's clash in Cambridgeshire all their own way as the hosts opened the scoring to go 7-0 ahead.

Ahead of the break, Ironsides put the squeeze on Wisbech, and an intercept try by Jones, with Mott's conversion, levelled the scores.

Mott was on target with a penalty soon after to ensure Ironsides went into the half-time break 10-7 ahead.

The second half belonged to the visitors as they ran in 10 unanswered points, with Whitehouse's try and five points off Mott's boot.

Ironsides, who top Surrey Division One, return to league action this weekend with the visit of Law Society to Garratt Green (kick-off midday).
