Leatherhead may have beaten Peacehaven & Telscombe 5-2 on the road last weekend, but boss Richard Brady is not a happy man.

Tanners climbed to 16th in the Ryman Premier League table, but Brady was more concerned about conceding two goals.

He said: “We know we’re a good team, but we’re striving for that consistency where we’re not hitting teams for five goals, and then losing by one goal in the next game.

“They were silly goals to concede, and overall the scoreline was a bit ridiculous as it turned into a bit of a basketball, end-to-end, type match and we just tool our chances.

“From the outside, it might look like we needed that win, but in truth, we need the consistency of performance more and that comes from being able to select a consistent side, which we cannot do.”

Tanners go to Burgess Hill Town this weekend in the final qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Brady said: “They will be a tough nut to crack, they’ve lost once all season [to Dartford in the FA Cup] so we could be the underdogs, which is odd.

“We’ll give it our best, and getting through would be a bonus.”

Last night (Wednesday), Tanners beat Farnham 2-1 to progress in the Surrey County Cup thanks to goals from Richard Avery and Cark Rook.
