London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell has not ruled out more additions to his squad preparing to make its Premiership bow in September.

The exiles confirmed the departures of 25 players on Monday from the squad that secured the Championship title earlier this month.

Winger Joe Ajuwa, centre Sonny Parker and centre Hudson Tonga'uiha top the list of players told to ply their trade elsewhere next term.

Welsh have added 15 players to the 23-strong list of retained players that will start pre-season training at the club's Old Deer Park training base in Richmond later this month.

And Burnell has confirmed he is still in the hunt to add more strength in depth to his resources.

"I'd like to thank all of the boys who are leaving the club this summer and wish them all the very best for the future," he said.

"Last season's success was based purely on the squad environment we created at the club. We rotated our squad throughout the season and never fielded the same starting 15 in consecutive games.

"In regard to new signings at the club, we have confirmed 15 additions to our squad for next season, but I would reiterate that we are still actively looking to further strengthen that squad for the huge challenge the Aviva Premiership poses.”
