London Welsh make nine changes for Sunday’s Greene King IPA Championship fixture with Moseley at Old Deer Park this weekend (kick-off at midday).

The Exiles will be keen to pick up from where they left off against Ealing Trailfinders last Saturday, when they ran in five tries in a 39-6 win that made it back-to-back league victories for Justin Burnell’s side.

In the backs, Josh Watkins starts at full back, while Joe Ajuwa returns to the side on the back of some impressive try scoring form for Rosslyn Park in National League One.

USA Eagles fly half Toby L’Estrange makes his first competitive start for the Exiles, and he will form a new half back pairing with Alex Davies.

In the forwards, Welsh field an all changed front row in Nathan Trevett, Nathan Morris and Peter Edwards. Ian Nimmo partners Peter Browne in the second row and Daniel Browne is named at number eight.

On the bench, new signings former Ireland Under 20 prop Paddy Ryan and USA Eagles flanker John Quill are set to make their first competitive appearances for the club.

London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell said: “Moseley have won their last two games and they’re a very good side.

“But it’s all about ourselves. We were disappointed after the Plymouth game but we bounced back against Rotherham with seven tries and then five tries last week against Ealing – two bonus point wins and ten points and we’ve only conceded one try. Things are back on track.”

When the sides met at Billesley Common in November, Welsh won 24-8 thanks to two tries from Seb Stegmann and one from Carl Kirwan.
