London Welsh winger Errie Claassens insists he will spend little time basking in his try hat-trick against Moseley as the Dragons look to cement their Championship play-off spot.
Claassens crossed for all three of the Exiles’ tries as they saw off Moseley 22-6, a result which sent them back to third in the table.
But the South African back reckons this weekend’s trip to Doncaster is the only thing on his mind.
Claassens said: “At the moment everybody’s focus is solely on the next game.
“If we are to have any success this season it will come down to our consistency - we need to keep performing and we need to keep winning.
“So although I’m obviously happy with the tries, all that matters is getting mentally and physically prepared for Doncaster.”
Claassens’ triple took him to ten league tries for the season, and further justified the decision of coach Danny Wilson to recruit the Rotherham winger in the summer.
But the 27-year-old was eager to deflect praise for his efforts.
He added: “I actually think I have just been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time.
“If the team plays well and gets on the front foot it makes it a lot easier for us to create.
“The forwards have played a massive part in our success and I have just taken advantage of that.”
Having moved to the UK in 2005 to join Rotherham, Claassens is enjoying his new lease of life at Old Deer Park.
And the former Free State Cheetah admits he is more than happy to have made the switch.
He added: “I felt like I needed a change and this has been a very good one for me.
“I am happy living in London and I am very happy to be part of London Welsh.
“My contract runs until the end of next season and it is great to know that I will be here next year.”
London Welsh’s next three matches: Jan 23 Doncaster (a), 30 Coventry (h), Feb 6 Plymouth Albion (a)
