Former Ealing Trailfinders captain Danny Kenny says moving to London Scottish has actually brought hiom closer to hios roots.

The 27-year-old ex-Doncaster and London Irish flanker confirmed a switch to the Athletic Ground this week and revealed his grandparents hailed from Scotland.

"The move to Scottish was always one I wanted as it is closer to home with having Scottish grandparents," said the former Munster academy and Leinster A player.

"From talking to Pete [Scottish head coach Peter Richards] a few months ago he spoke of a young and exciting team that want to play rugby and I feel as though that is a game plan that suits me.”

He added: "From having a month off I'm very excited to meet some new players, get started and hopefully be part of something special next season.”

Kenny can play across all three back-row positions and Richards believes he brings further competition for places in the squad ahead of the coming Championship campaign.

"Danny is an athletic and dynamic player, one of the fastest back-rowers in the league, who will add versatility and great ability, giving us another option in the back-row alongside Joe Atkinson as our exciting squad pulls together," he added.
