London Scottish have signed scrum half Jordi Pasqualin from Newcastle Falcons.

The 23-year-old scrum half will bolster the half back options available to director of rugby Simon Amor.

Although Pasqualin made 29 appearances for the Falcons since joining in the summer of 2011, he made just one start last season - while on loan at National League One outfit Blaydon - and only a handful of appearances off the Falcons bench.

Sheffield-born Pasqualin is a product of the Gloucester academy and spent three seasons at Kingsholm between 2008 and 2011, before his move to the Falcons.

During that period, he spent time at Moseley on loan, helping them to the EDF Energy National Trophy final in 2009, where they defeated Leeds.

In 2011, he was a key player in Gloucester’s LV Cup winning side and played in the final against Newcastle, who he would go on to join that summer.

Scottish signing: Pasqualin has moved to the Athletic Ground from Newcastle Falcons after a frustrating season on the bench

Pasqualin has also been capped at England U20 level and represented his country in the 2009 and 2010 Six Nations.

Pasqualin said: “I’m very pleased to be making the move to London Scottish for next season. It’s clear to see that they’re a club on the up and I’m very much looking forward to playing my part.

“There’s a lot of talent in the Scottish squad and it showed last season. I’m excited to be a part of that and for this next challenge in my career.”
