Old Rutlishians were back to winning ways with a bang on saturday with a 41-8 victory over Old Glynonians.

Rutlishians put the previous week's defeat to the league leaders behind them and despite a shaky start, which saw Glynonians take a three-point lead, then played some sparkling rugby.

First half tries from Freddie Villiers, Billy Osbourne and Tony Howard with two conversions by Matt Chandler put the Rutlishians in command at 19-3 at half time. Glynonians started the second half strongly but Rutlishians weathered the storm and a splendid passage of play was rounded off by a Jake Gordon try which was converted by Matt Chandler.

Strong running Darren Ramen was the next try scorer to put Rutlishians 31-3 ahead.

Glynonians came back with an unconverted try but in the final five minutes Rutlishians powered on with two more tries, a fine opportunist effort from Matt Chandler and a second of the day for winger Billy Osbourne.

This bonus point win takes Rutlishians back to second place in Surrey Three.

Rutlishians next league fixture is away to Worth Old Boys on December 4.
