London Scottish centre Connor Braid is confident he can play a part in keeping the exiles on course for a Championship play-off berth.

The 24-year-old agreed a permanent switch to the Athletic Ground from Glasgow Warriors this week after a enjoying a productive four-week loan spell at the club in October.

Canada international Braid, who will return to the Warriors on loanduring the 2015 Six Nations, scored three tries in four appearances for Scottish – including a brace on debut.

And he is hoping he can make a similar impact on his return.

"It's a great set-up down here, with a young, energetic coaching team who are really ambitious and it's good to see the boys have continued their winning form over the past few weeks,” said Braid, who will start at fly half for tonight’s British & Irish Cup clash at Bristol.

“We are sitting third in the Greene King IPA Championship just now and hopefully I can play my part in helping the club stay in the top four.”

Scottish director of rugby Mike Friday added: “We’ve built-up a strong relationship with Glasgow Warriors and this deal works for both clubs and most importantly Connor.

“His character and personality are perfect for the type of player we want in this squad and he was really impressive for us in October.”

Tries from Miles Mantella and Mark Bright helped secure a 17-7 B&I Cup triumph over Connacht Eagles last Friday night.
