Rosslyn Park’s 31-10 away win at Hartpury College last weekend, in which they scored five tries, kept them in second place in National League One, four points behind Ealing Trailfinders.

Tries from Jack Gash (two), Hugo Ellis, Nev Edwards and Louis Grimoldby, who also converted three conversions, did the damage in Gloucestershire.

Park host Darlington Mowden Park this weekend - a side that put 50 points past Blackheath on Saturday.

Head coach Alex Codling said: "I was delighted with the performance at Hartpury. They are a team that look to move the ball at every opportunity and came out of the blocks very quickly and we did really well to weather the storm.

“We then showed great control and patience to score three quick tries."

He added: “Once again the first 20 minutes of the second half was tight, but we finished the game strongly and got the five points.

Rosslyn Park dish out a lesson to Hartpury College

“This Saturday we have another big challenge in the form of Darlington Mowden Park.

“They are a team that have a lot of experience and are coming off the back of a 50-10 win over Blackheath.

“The Park supporters were fantastic last time out versus Esher and it would be great for them to get behind the boys again”.

Park have a particular score to settle against the County Durham side, who they play at Roehampton this Satyrday at 3pm.

Fourteen years ago, when Darlington MP were a humble North-East Division One club, they created a sensation by dumping Park out of the RFU Knockout Cup – the only time in a cup match that Park have lost to a side from a lower division.

Darlington have very much come up in the world since then.

Their 25,000 capacity Northern Echo Arena is second only to Twickenham in terms of capacity among English rugby union grounds.

The 50 points they scored against Club last weekend suggest that Rosslyn Park will have their work cut out to maintain their promotion challenge.
