Rosslyn Park host Blackheath tomorrow [Saturday] in a potentially cracking National League One London derby.

Park pulled off a sensational away win against joint title favourites Coventry last weekend, despite playing a man short for almost an hour.

Delighted head coach Alex Codling said: “I was extremely proud of the performance at Coventry.

"Despite playing two thirds of the match with 14 men, some of the tries and ambition of the players was a joy to watch.

“To win away at a place like Coventry and in the manner that it was achieved, speaks volumes for this group of players."

He added: “The boys are very much looking forward to playing our first game at the Rock in a derby against Blackheath.

"It would be great for as many supporters to come down and get behind the boys. There is a great buzz among the group and the fans make a massive difference”.

Park’s win in the midlands was all the better for being achieved without injured stars Hugo Ellis, Harry Broadbent and Kiba Richards.

Fly half and skipper, Scott Sneddon, limped off at Coventry, so Codling will be keeping his fingers crossed for some good news from the treatment room.

Some good news for Park came in the fact that former skipper and flanker, Harry Rowland, is almost over his long-term injury and should be back to full match fitness shortly.

Park have every reason to be wary of the visit of Club tomorrow - last season Park put in an immense effort to win at Wharfedale, who at the time were near the top of the table and unbeaten at home.

The win took Park to the top, but the next Saturday they suffered their only home defeat of the season – to Blackheath.
