Croydon-born Bradley Ellis and partner Andy Cummings narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in the Radical UK Cup at the picturesque Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
With no championship points on offer, the team took the decsion to limit tyrewear in qualifying but still managed to move up through the field to finish 12th.
However, a serious accident during qualifying meant that Ellis and Cummings were unable to take advantage of seventh place on the grid for the second race as a serious accident in qualifying for another event caused it to be cancelled.
Ellis said: “The car felt good in the race and every set-up change we made was a big step forward.”
