The vastly experienced Soma Singh has been named as new coach for Teddington Hockey Club’s first and second XI men.
Singh has appeared in two World Cups and an Olympics and has won a host of domestic league and cup titles and European trophies.
He will be supported by Jon Sprakes, who is returning after a year away, having previously been Teddington’s first-team keeper.
The women are coached by Michella Mitchell, an Olympic gold medallist for Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Another former Teddington player, Jon Owen, is the women’s second XI coach.
The new league seasons begin on September 26.
Teddington are the oldest hockey club and run eight men’s and six women’s teams as well as a host of junior sides. The Teddington School-based club has a new pitch at the nearby St Mary’s Teddington Lock.
