Kingston & Polytechnic Harrier Pippa Earley wrote herself into the record books at the weekend.

The 14-year-old Notre Dame School student secured double gold at the Surrey Indoor Championships in Sutton over the weekend, setting new championship bests in both the 60m hurdles and the long jump.

Earley clocked 9.04 seconds in the U15 girls’ 60 metre hurdles and set a mark of 5.54m in the U15 girls’ long jump.

Kingston athlete William Gwynne set a new personal best of 3.60m to win the U20 men’s pole vault, while Jack Westley did the same in the U15 boys’ pole vault with a leap of 2.50m.

Harriers’ Chris Hall jumped 6.56m to claim a silver in the senior men’s long jump and the 26-year-old followed that effort up with 13.12m to win the triple jump.

Women’s team captain Pippa Wingate threw 12.27m to comfortably claim the senior women’s shot title, while there was a silver for Gareth Crook in the men’s shot.
