Hockey stars Georgie Twigg and Rebecca Herbert did their international chances little harm as they both scored for Surbiton on Saturday.
England head to Argentina at the end of November for the World League Finals, with Twigg and Herbert, plus clubmates Sarah Haycroft, Hollie Webb and Giselle Ansley all hoping to make the trip.
England will take on Germany, Holland, China, Australia, Korea, New Zealand and the host nation, hoping to add to the European championship silver medal they collected in the summer.
Surbiton beat the University of Birmingham 3-1 at Sugden Road on Saturday with Twigg - her club's leading scorer this term - and Herbert adding to an own goal to secure the win.
The result moved coach Brett Garrard's team up to third in the WHL Premier Division table.
