Promising young footballers Annabel Prior and Fern Colepio signed by LA Tech University
Two promising footballers have been signed by a top US ladies football team.
Annabel Prior and Fern Colepio, both 17, have each agreed $100,000 contracts with LA Tech University and will play in the USA conference league.
The pair will fly out to Louisiana in August for pre-season training.
Speaking at a contract signing event on 6 February, Miss Prior, an Overton Grange pupil, said, "This is a dream come true. From the age of six I have played football and have always wanted to play at a high level. Going to LA Tech gives me this opportunity."
Organisation Girl Scholar USA helped secure the girls' scholarships.

And to call a scholarship offer a $100,000 contract is an absurd use of language. But I wish the girls well. I'm sure they will do well over there.
