Getting shirty: Croydon Athletic's Danny Waldren contests a header with Kingstonian's Gavin Cartwright on Sunday Deadlinepix Amy Weston SP20212
Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson has denied reports he is set to make wholesale changes to playing staff at Kingsmeadow.
The 37-year-old, who saw his side claim a 1-0 triumph over Croydon Athletic on Saturday, was reported to be making plans to clear out 15 of his squad in the summer.
NJ Lampton will not be one of those heading for the exit door after heading an injury-time winner against 10-man Athletic, and impressing in a run of one defeat in eight games.
Dowson, who claims Saturday's win has rekindled faint hopes of securing a play-off spot, has dispatched ex-Ks and Walton Casuals boss Kim Harris to scout the talent needed for a title challenge next season.
But he insists he only needs to tweak his side to turn them in to promotion contenders.
"It is absolutely ridiculous to suggest we will be getting rid of 15 players. I wish I had that many in the first place to get rid of," he said.

"There will be changes, but that is the case at any football club at this time of year.
"I would like to keep the majority of this team together, but some players might get better offers elsewhere or we might want to bring in someone who can improve things.
"We have to start the process now - any football manager worth his salt would.
"It is pointless exercise in six weeks."
Lampton's goal kept Ks within three points of a top-five spot with two games to play.
But a Worthing win over Walton Casuals on Saturday would render Ks' clash with Whyteleafe on Monday meaningless.
Dowson has already been in touch with Casuals boss Luke Dowling to ask his former Walton & Hersham team-mate for a favour.
And while there is still a chance of making an unlikely bid for promotion, Dowson will continue to dream.
"We could get to Monday with nothing to play for but, while there is a chance, we will believe it is possible," he added.
"Luke has done a cracking job at Walton and they are on a good run. I called him, but there wasn't any need to, because I know he will want his team to finish as high as possible.
Remaining games: Apr 21 Whyteleafe (h), 26 Eastbourne Town (h).
