Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson will resist making sweeping changes to his squad having received the backing of the Kingsmeadow board.

The manager, who met with  club directors on Monday, is set to add two new faces to his roster this week and is likely to let two go after Saturday’s 2-0 FA Trophy defeat at lowly Folkestone Invicta.

The result means Ks missed out on £2,700 in prize money, forcing a balancing of the books, but Dowson insisted it would not mean major cut backs at the club.

“The chairman has been brilliant. Losing the revenue is a blow, but he has told me not to panic and we will find a way to keep the club moving forward,” he said ahead of Saturday’s trip to Lowestoft Town.

“We were always going to tweak one or two things at this time. We’ve got players with Conference South experience, but they need to stand up to be counted.”
