It's not all doom and gloom at the Beveree.

Hampton & Richmond striker Lawrence Yaku has been named Blue Square South's player of the month - only the club's second gong in an historic season.

The 33-year-old hit four league goals in April to guide the Beavers to third in the table. He scored 15 times in the league to help the Beavers become the highest scorers with 87 goals.

Alan Devonshire won a manager-of-the-month award earlier in the season, but Yaku's award is the only other recognition of Hampton finishing in their highest position to date.
