Brentford keeper Mark Smith has impressed boss Alan Dowson enough to extend his loan spell at Hampton & Richmond Borough, but it is curtains for winger Luke Wanadio.

Smith, who started his Beavers career with a 3-0 FA Trophy defeat to Grays Athletic, will remain at the club until January.

Wanadio’s first team opportunities have been limited in recent weeks and has quit the Beveree in search of regular first team football.

“Mark is a really good goalkeeper and we’re thrilled and thankful that his loan has been extended.

“Luke is a bit unlucky. He has had his game time restricted in recent weeks and wants to play more.

“I understand that and respect his wishes. He wants to start games, it’s something at the moment we cannot guarantee so he goes with our best wishes.”

Hampton let a 2-0 lead – thanks to goals from Jake Rose and Tom Collins – slip to draw 2-2 at Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday.

The Beavers, who have been making use of Fulham’s Motspur Park training complex this week, are without a fixture tomorrow and host Peacheaven & Telscombe on Tuesday.
