Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson faces competition from Ryman Premier League relegation rivals Lewes  to secure the services of Nick Bignall.

The Sutton United' striker scored the Beavers' opening goal in a 1-1 draw with a Totttenham Hotspur XI at the Bevereee on Tuesday.

Gander Green Lane chief Paul Doswell is looking to off-load Bignall and midfielder Bedsente Gomis for a month to get the duo much-needed game time.

Dowson heads the queue to take the pair as he bids to keep his club from the clutches of the drop zone this term.

“Both players would walk into our side, but neither is completely match fit and so they need games," said Doswell.

“They both played in Hampton’s mid-week friendly against Spurs, Nick scored a screamer, and they are both desperate for games.”

He added: “I am also in talks with Gary Wilson [Lewes manager] about Nick, and I know he could do a job at either club.”

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has agreed to send a Tractor Boys team to the Beveree on October 28 as Hampton prepare to face Grays Athletic in the FA Trophy first qualifying round on November 1.

Adult tickets for the game are £5 with all children given free entry.
