Hampton & Richmond Borough striker Charlie Moone has his heart set on becoming one of the club's all time greats after agreeing a deal to remain at the Beveree for another season.

The 25-year-old smashed 40 goals in all competitions last term and was the Ryman Premier League's most prolific goalscorer leading to speculation he may quit the club after a disappointing mid-table finish for joint-managers Paul Barry and Darren Powell's side.

Moone penned a contract last season with an option to extend that deal for the forthcoming campaign, which he duly signed on Wednesday night following talks with the Station Road bosses.

The former Woking frontman, who saw strike partner Dave Tarpey sign for Skrill South Maidenhead United last week, could pass the 100-goal mark next season.

"I think I said at the start of the season that I would be pleased to get 25 goals again, so it has been a great season," said Moone.

"Anything between 20 and 40 goals is a successful season for a striker. It is not that easy to do because the Ryman Premier League is a decent league.

"I am close to 100 goals for the club. I've been here four or five seasons now and players don't hang around at non-League clubs that long these days.

"To get past that mark would give me a huge amount of personal pride and it would be nice go in to the Hampton record books with that by my name."
