Hampton & Richmond Borough chairman Steve McPherson wants the area’s football fans to hand his club a financial boost by taking a trip to the Beveree on non-League day tomorrow.

This weekend lower league football has its time in the spotlight with no Premier League or Championship matches taking place due to the international break.

With England hosting Moldova on Friday night at Wembley, non-League day kicks in a day later, with the Beavers offering half price entry to season ticket holders from other football clubs.

Hampton host well-supported Ryman Premier Lea-gue title hopefuls Maidstone United.

And after their first victory of the season at East Thurrock United last Saturday, spirits are high as joint bosses Paul Barry and Darren Powell bid to get their home form back on track.

McPherson, pictured below, said: “We’re hoping for a bumper crowd and after missing the trip to East Thurrock I have yet to see us win this season, so hopefully I can break my duck.

“Maidstone are one of the favourites for the league title so we’ll need to be at our best. Hopefully, we’ll be up to the challenge and show people this is a great place to watch football.”

Two new signings Ryan Case and Alex Parsons are expected to feature for Hampton.

The former AFC Bournemouth pair penned deals on Sunday with right back Case arriving on a permanent contract and midfielder Parsons signing on loan from Whitehawk.
