E(R)C Blog: Alexander becomes key to Bees

Gary Alexander has nine goals in 18 league appearances this season, writes Stuart Amos.

I thought I’d write that down because I was as surprised as you probably were to hear that stat.

The Bees have struggled for goals this term, but now we are beginning to see the former Millwall and Leyton Orient star become a key contributor since his return from injury.

The 32-year-old has never been what you might call prolific – with a goal every three games during the course of his Bees career.

But his tally has started to creep up this term, almost stealthily, and, providing that can continue, fans should be confident Brentford can mount a play-off challenge this term.

If only the likes of Clayton Donaldson could start finding the net in the same way, then Rosler might be able to strengthen elsewhere in his squad without having to find another frontman this month.
