Brentford winger Myles Weston’s recent form is only the tip of the iceberg, according to boss Andy Scott.
The livewire 21-year-old backed up his match-winning brace against Carlisle United last week with impressive displays versus league leaders Norwich City and Southampton in the last seven days.
He came close to bagging a late equaliser at the Canaries on Saturday and was a constant thorn in the Saints’ side at Griffin Park in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw.
Weston has suffered his fair share of injuries since switching from Notts County in the summer for an initial £25,000, which has already risen to £45,000 due to appearances this season and could yet tip £115,000.
And Scott believes his current form makes him one of his best bargain buys, with leading-scorer Weston already targeting a 15 goal haul this term.
“We’re seeing the real Myles Weston now after some injuries,” he said.
“We’ve got a different way of playing to Notts County and it takes time to adapt. Now he is realising our style is to his benefit.
“We like to give him the freedom to get crosses in and drive forward and get on crosses at the far post in the box.
“His value is shooting up as the games progress.”
