Brentford midfielder Alan Judge could yet provide the key to the Euro 2016 door for the Republic of Ireland this weekend.
The 27-year-old, who celebrated his birthday this week, is in boss Martin O’Neill’s squad for their play-off clash with Bosnia & Herzegovina – which will be played over two legs tonight and on Monday.
Judge, an unknown quantity to the Bosnians, has been in spectacular form for the Bees scoring three goals and notching four assists to pick up the Championship player of the month award for October.
He stayed in London this week to rest a hamstring problem, but is back with the Irish squad and could be a surprise package should he get the nod.
Chelsea loanee John Swift has been called into the England U21 squad for their two Euro 2017 qualifiers this weekend.
Fellow midfielder Jota is nearing a return from a three month lay-off following ankle surgery, while defender Maxime Colin is back in full training.
“Very happy to be back with the team and having good feelings,” said Jota on social media this week.
