Boss Mark Warburton reckoned Nottingham Forest suffered on Tuesday night because something made Andre Gray and Moses Odubajo angry.

Former Luton Town loan striker Gray was the catalyst for a 3-1 triumph at the City Ground that condemned the hosts to a 10th game without a win and fired the Bees up to ninth in the table.

"It was a great display at the weekend and it was important to get a level of consistency in our performance," said Warburton.

"We played very well in the first half. We were outstanding. Jonathan Douglas got forward and Andre Gray terrorised their two centre halves.

"I was very pleased with Moses and Andre. Those two have to get angry and when they get angry and aggressive they are a handful.

"When Moses drives at the heart of the defence they have to get tight and narrow.

"When that happens, we have opportunities."

Midfielder Jon Toral smashed home the opener and Gray added the second to have Warburton's men 2-0 up at the break and it should have been more.

Douglas, whose new contract talks remain ongoing, fired wide from six yards out when unmarked and Gray saw a late effort well saved by Forest stopper Karl Darlow.

Alex Pritchard added a 48th minute penalty to make the game safe with more than 40 minutes remaining and Gray might have added a fourth 15 minutes later, but was again denied by Darlow.

Former Tooting & Mitcham United striker Michail Antonio smashed in a late consolation for Forest from distance.

"You can always do better. I could have had a hat-trick if I had been a bit more clinical," added Gray.

"The keeper did make two good saves, but I should have had two more."

The victory, which has Brentford two points off the top six, came at a price as Douglas picked up a fifth yellow card of the campaign, meaning he will sit out Saturday's trip to Millwall.

And Gray admitted he would be missed.

"He  is our midfield general - a bit of an unsung hero," he said.

"He has been outstanding and he will be a massive loss on Saturday.

"But Toums [Toumani Diagouraga] has been immense since he has come in, so we should be alright."
