Corinthian Casuals striker Shaun Okojie seems set for a rapid promotion even if boss James Bracken’s men fail to escape Ryman Division South this season, writes Stuart Amos.

The former Luton Town and Sutton United youngster, pictured right, impressed for League One strugglers Chesterfield’s reserves on Tuesday as they beat Rotherham United 3-0.

Okojie, who had a trial at former Premier League side Blackpool in the summer, has scored nine goals in 10 games for Casuals this term, with Bracken’s men currently fifth in the table.

Peterborough United, Swindon Town and Championship outfit Barnsley are also reportedly interested ion the six foot three inch front man, who netted 17 goals in 20 appearances for Casuals last term.

Chesterfield are yet to confirm a deal for the forward, but the player’s representatives believe an agreement can be struck this week with other clubs ready to pounce.

Okojie did not feature in Saturday's FA Trophy win over Thamesmead Town as he prepared for his trial with the Spireites.

He is expected to play when Faversham Town visit King George's Field tomorrow, providing he has not agreed a switch elsewhere.
