AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley has highlighted the importance of winning three points tonight following back to back draws.

Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate against Wycombe Wanderers extended the Dons unbeaten run in League Two to five games, but they lost ground on the play-offs, albeit by only two points.

Dagenham & Redbridge are the visitors to the Cherry Red Record stadium tonight, and being bottom of the table they will offer a different challenge to Wycombe – a challenge Ardley thought his men more than matched.

After falling behind to a second half Jason McCarthy goal, the Dons grabbed a last gasp equaliser through Adebayo Azeez.

Ardley said: “That’s good character. That’s a team that keeps going and keeps believing that they can do it.

“Everyone turned up, with the form we’re in, expecting us to win, but that was a tough, horrible game today and we’ve managed to take a point.

“Wycombe aren’t where they are in the league, with two games in hand on everybody, because they’re lucky.

“They’re where they are because every team that comes up against them struggles to deal with what they do, and they do it really well.

“They’re a hard working team, they never give you a minute to settle, and they play a certain game, and in the end you end up playing a game that suits them.

“You play their game, and they’re better at it than you. We’re better when we’ve got a pattern of play to us.”

The Daggers have picked up just one win in 17 League Two games this season, and that came at Northampton Town at the beginning of September.

Ardley said: “I was happy with a point towards our total on Saturday, but we now need to, after two draws, try and take all three on Tuesday.”
