Beavers boss Alan Dowson has hit out at the referee for robbing his side of all three points at Lewes on Wednesday night.
Moussa Diarra’s first goal of the season had Dowson’s men 1-0 ahead and cruising with 15 minutes to go at the Dripping Pan.
However, the referee awarded a penalty to the hosts and dished out a straight red card to keeper Seb Brown – a decision the club is going to appeal.
Leon Redwood converted the spot-kick, meaning the Beavers go into tomorrow’s clash with Met Police at the Beveree with just one win in five Ryman Premier Division games.
Dowson said: “It was a scandalous penalty. The referee was the only person in the ground who saw anything wrong.
“I have to be careful what I say, but we were in total control, it was an excellent away performance, Lewes had had only one shot on goal all night, and then the referee robbed us.
“If I made a mistake like that I’d be sacked. We will appeal, but we won’t get our two points back.”
Dowson is sweating on the fitness of Josh Casey (ankle) ahead of the weekend.
