Bury Town keeper Marcus Garnham prevented Kingstonian from moving up to third in the Ryman Premier League on Monday night.

Garnham produced a stunning double save from Ks strike pairing Nathaniel Pinney and Andre McCollin midway through the second half before stretching to stop a sharp shot from midfielder Steve Laidler minutes later as he ensured the scores finished 0-0.

Pinney and McCollin were a handful for the Town defence all night with the latter hitting the post early in the second half after being put through by his partner in crime.

While the former, who had scored three goals from his previous three appearances, thought he had won a penalty only for the referee to judge the offence to have been outside the box.

Ks had impressed in the first half, but could not take advantage of Bury's slow start due to a late arrival at the ground that had forced a delayed kick-off.

"With the chances we created, it was a frustrating evening. All that was missing was a goal. If we had got one, I think we had have gone and scored three or four," said manager Tommy Williams.

"We'll take the positives. It is another cleansheet, it is another point on the board and we are still unbeaten and anyone watching knew we created enough to win it.

"Their keeper had an excellent game. He was superb for them. He pulled off a couple of really good saves.

"I'd be worried if we were not creating chances, but we are and on another night we would have won."
