Dons face race against time to get Thursday night's televised fixture up and running
3:35pm Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in Football
AFC Wimbledon still need help from supporters to avoid Thursday’s televised clash against League Two leaders Port Vale from being postponed.
A handful of supporters have already pledged to give up their spare time for tomorrow’s clear-up at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, for which the club is grateful.
However, the Dons need a large number of volunteers to shift snow from the pitch and areas surrounding the stadium, starting from 9am in the morning.
With the match scheduled to be live on Sky Sports and the fixtures starting to pile up, the club needs supporters to volunteer their efforts and clear snow from the pitch and areas surrounding the ground.
The Dons will keep the snow on the pitch until Wednesday, after which the aim is to clear the snow and then apply covers to the pitch to combat overnight frost.
Although thay have some tools, if volunteers can bring wheelbarrows, brushes or shovels with them then that will be a big help.
If you can provide assistance on Wednesday, please contact the club by emailing secretary@afcwimbledon.co.uk
