Malden Wanderers bounced back from their opening day defeat to Reigate with a comfortable victory at Wimbledon in the Surrey Championship Premier Division on Saturday, writes Nick Pryce.
Surrey's Stewart Walters' 54 led Malden up to 246 from their 45 overs.
After Wimbledon's openers failed, Mohammed Jaffer smashed 90 off 87 balls, but they fell 18 runs short.
"I wasn't worried they would get to our total," said Walters, who is just coming back from a fractured cheekbone.
"We had confidence in the bowlers, and importantly we fielded very well. We have not brought in many players, but we have kept those who have been performing."
Walters, who scored 115 for Surrey's second string last week, will not be satisfied with just playing Premier League cricket.
"I have recovered well, now I am just looking to push on and score some runs for Surrey's second XI," he said.
