Keith Medlycott praised his side's all round display on Saturday as they moved out of the Surrey Championship Division One relegation places with just two games left.
Opener Fuaad Syed scored 110 and James Scott 58 as Purley hit 283-6 off their 50 overs and then skittled Pyrford out for just 132, Medlycott taking 3-26.
"It was a big win and the way we performed all round was as well as we have played at any time this season," said Medlycott.
"You know in one day cricket that if a player gets a hundred it makes a good platform for you and we got off to a flyer.
"Right to the end of the lower middle order made contributions and pushed the score up to more than we expected to get.
"The pleasing thing from the spinners side of things is that myself and Andrew Macdonald have bowled really well for a number of games in the one dayers and that's really good."
Purley now sit eighth, one point ahead of Epsom, three ahead of Walton-on-Thames and only seven behind East Molesey, but have two tough games left against second-placed Cheam and fourth-placed derby rivals Old Whitgiftians.
"It is nice to be looking down at someone else for a change," joked Medlycott.
"We all know in this league that one game and one performance can turn the league topsy-turvy.
"They are big games we have left but we have known in the second half of the summer that every single game is a huge game.
"If we play and perform well and Cheam comes on top then the best side has won.
"If we do what we do well though, hopefully that will be enough."
Old Whitgiftian fell to a narrow seven wicket defeat to Brook in a thriller on Saturday.
Chasing Brook's massive 301-9, Murtaza Hussain's 82 helped OW make it to the last over needing eight to win but lost their last wicket with the first ball when Freddie Van Den Bergh was run out.
