Done deal...but club must match manager's ambitions
Andy Scott has revealed he could be tempted away from Griffin Park, despite penning a new five-year deal with the club last weekend.
The 35-year-old boss has impressed since taking over from former England captain Terry Butcher in December, and agreed a revised contract with the Bees after Saturday's defeat to Hereford United.
The deal, offered by the board after staving off the threat of relegation, is littered with get-out clauses.
The ex-Sheffield United striker is keen for Brentford to challenge at the top end of the table next season and concedes that may attract attention to his talents, saying his head could be turned by the right offer.
"I'm ambitious. They know my feelings for the club, but I do want to move on to bigger and better things. Hopefully, that can be at Brentford," he said.
"Ultimately, I will only be here for as long as I am successful.
"There are get-out clauses on both sides. I want to move forward with this club but, if I don't get results, I won't.
"If I continue to be succesful then, hopefully, we will be planning for the Championship during my spell in charge.
"We can't expect things to happen overnight, but I would like to think that if we get the right players in on the money I have, we should be pushing for a top-seven finish."

I am a huge Bees fan although I have lived in Canada a number of years and I certainly hope that the team can get the results that Andy Scott thinks that they are capable of next season as I would hate to see him leave Griffin Park now that he has started to build a team of younger players it seems who I'm sure will challenge for the top spot and further. Everyone wants to reach their goals in whatever they do, we now have the nucleaus of a winning team built by Andy Scott so go out there and support them. I only wish that I could.
quote
