Brentford could face competition in the race to sign Ryman Division One South hot-shot Moses Ademola.

The youngster notched his 19th goal of the season in Croydon Athletic's 2-1 defeat to Whitstable Town last weekend.

Ademola has been training at Griffin Park for the past three weeks after spending a spell on trial at Championship side Charlton Athletic earlier in the season.

Bees boss Andy Scott has always maintained he would not rule out signing a rough diamond from nonleague. But Croydon manager Dave Garland admitted Ademola's exploits had attracted the attention of other clubs, which could increase his asking price.

"A few professional clubs are looking at him, so there will be development on that in the summer," he said. "He has been training at Brentford and it is a possibility he will move.

"We are not going to stand in anyone's way if they can move into professional football."
