Brentford boss Uwe Rosler fears he could be without club skipper Kevin O'Connor for a lengthy spell.

The Bees beat Portsmouth 1-0 - thanks to an early Clayton Donaldson strike - but O'Connor left Fratton Park on crutches after damaging his ankle.

Norwich City loan star Tom Adeyemi - replaced by the 30-year-old in the 23rd minute - also hurt his hamstring leaving Rosler to admit the win had come at a price.

"We lost Leon Legge last week and tonight we lost another two players for weeks to come, Kevin O’Connor maybe longer," he said.

"You see me now very emotional because Kevin O’Connor doesn’t look very good.

"He stood with his foot in the ground and another player went over with the full force.

"It wasn’t a bad tackle, it was an accident and he went over on his ankle and didn’t feel very good after.

"So with Leon out and another player who could play centre half out, we know what we need to do in the next few days."

Richard Lee's sparkling FA Cup performance meant he retained the number one jersey at Pompey - ahead of youngster Simon Moore - and kept his second cleansheet in as many matches.

But it was the defensive display of Harlee Dean and Tony Craig that left Rosler drooling.

"I think both players were magnificent, but as a pair that was their best game for us, against a very good striker," he added.

"In the last ten minutes we never panicked. The plan was to press them high up and keep them away from our goal. That was magnificent. The players really dug in today.

"I have to say Scott Barron showed me a lot. He did really well when he came on.

"I think he wanted to prove a point to me and he certainly did because he showed me a lot."
